Discover Wareham

Wareham is a small unspoilt market town enclosed by two rivers the Piddle and the Frome. It is surrounded by a Saxon built wall and a gentle walk around these walls provides a fascinating insight to the town's history along with some beautiful scenery and views.

There are many character individual shops to browse around and Thursdays and Saturdays are Market days.

There are plenty of quality restaurants, tea shops and Olde Worlde pubs to choose from offering a wide selection of English and continental meals and drinks. Live free entertainment and music can often be found at weekends indoors and outdoors on the river quay.

Wareham carnival takes place towards the end of July promising lots of fun activities for all the family. There is a folk festival, jazz festival and film festival during the summer months offering an exciting choice of things to do.

Wareham has its very own gas-lit cinema in the style of the old nostalgic picture houses, and shows regular popular old and the latest films.

There is also a fully equipped large sports centre where you can enjoy many activities including swimming, tennis, squash, badminton, sauna and gym.
